Mazda Customer Celebrates Decades of Reliability, Craftsmanship and Family Legacy
by Admin |
For loyal Mazda customer Naresh Ishwardutt, driving a Mazda has become far more than a practical choice — it has been a decades-long relationship built on trust, reliability, craftsmanship and an enduring connection to a brand renowned for putting drivers first.
Having owned multiple Mazda vehicles over the years, including a Mazda 130 Rustler bakkie, Mazda 323, Mazda3 and now a Mazda CX-5, Ishwardutt’s journey reflects the qualities that have defined Mazda globally for generations: engineering excellence, long-term durability, human-centric design and an uncompromising commitment to driving enjoyment.
“My history with Mazda goes back many years,” said Ishwardutt. “The vehicles are reliable, comfortable and built to last. Even after hundreds of thousands of kilometres, they continue performing exceptionally well.”
One of the most remarkable milestones in his ownership journey is his Mazda3, purchased in 2014, which has now travelled more than 500,000km — a testament not only to meticulous care, but also to Mazda’s reputation for engineering vehicles that stand the test of time.
One of the most impressive aspects of the vehicle’s longevity is that the original clutch lasted approximately 400,000km before requiring replacement, highlighting both the vehicle’s durability and Mazda’s commitment to engineering quality that endures over hundreds of thousands of kilometres.
For Mazda, reliability is not simply a feature; it is part of the brand’s DNA. From the earliest Mazda models that earned a reputation for resilience and driver confidence, the brand has consistently focused on creating vehicles that deliver quality, durability and emotional connection over the long term.
“I looked after the car, serviced it properly, and it just kept going,” he said. “People would always comment on how fresh it still felt. The first brake replacement only happened after more than 100,000km, which says a lot about the build quality.”
Mazda’s philosophy of craftsmanship and attention to detail has long distinguished the brand within the automotive industry. Every vehicle is developed around the idea of creating harmony between car and driver — a philosophy Mazda refers to as Jinba-Ittai — ensuring that reliability is matched by comfort, confidence and an engaging driving experience.
Beyond the vehicles themselves, Ishwardutt credits Mazda’s dealership teams for creating an ownership experience that reinforced his loyalty to the brand over many years.
“They’ve always been phenomenal,” he said. “Whether it’s advice, servicing or assistance, the team has always been there when needed. That level of service makes a huge difference.”
He also highlighted Mazda’s service plans and roadside assistance as invaluable benefits given the amount of driving he does across South Africa.
“The unlimited service plan worked incredibly well for me because I spend so much time on the road. It gave me real peace of mind,” he added.
What began as personal ownership eventually became part of the family’s story. In a meaningful milestone, Ishwardutt handed down his beloved Mazda3 to his son while upgrading to a Mazda CX-5. Today, the vehicle continues to perform reliably with more than 500,000km on the clock — a reflection of Mazda’s enduring quality and the trust it inspires across generations.
According to Ishwardutt, what continues to set Mazda apart is the experience behind the wheel.
“You can read about the cars, but once you sit in one and drive it, you understand why people love them,” he said. “The comfort, the quality and the driving experience change your perception immediately.”
Even with countless options available in today’s automotive market, Ishwardutt says his confidence in Mazda remains unwavering.
“If I change vehicles again, it will definitely be another Mazda,” he said. “The reliability, craftsmanship and service experience have earned my trust.”
Mazda Southern Africa continues to prioritise customer confidence through refined vehicle design, advanced engineering and dedicated aftersales support — reinforcing the brand’s long-standing reputation for creating vehicles that deliver lasting value, emotional connection and driving enjoyment for years to come.
