Your OEM 5-year warranty INCLUDES a 5-YEAR ANTI-PERFORATION WARRANTY.

The Anti-Perforation Warranty covers your Mazda in the event of a vehicle body perforation (hole through the body panel) due to corrosion of the body sheet metal panels.

Your authorised Mazda Dealer will without charge for parts or labour, either repair or replace the affected part(s) using new parts.

How do I make a claim under the MazdaCare® OEM 5-year Warranty?
 To make a claim, you must have the repair work authorized and performed by an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
What are the details on the OEM 5-Year Anti-Perforation Warranty?

 

This 60 months (unlimited kilometres) perforation warranty is applicable only to Mazda Vehicles originally distributed by Mazda Authorized Dealers and registered and normally operated in Southern Africa.

What Is Not Covered?

  • Any perforation due to corrosion of the Mazda Vehicle which is caused by industrial fallout, accident, damage, abuse, vehicle modifications or cargo that is damaging or corrosive to the Mazda vehicle.
  • Any surface corrosion of the Mazda Vehicle which does not result in perforation, such as that typically caused by sand, salt, saltpeter/nitre, hail or stones.
  • Any perforation due to corrosion of the Mazda Vehicle which results, not from a defect in material or workmanship, but from failure to maintain the Mazda Vehicle in accordance with the procedures specified in “Your Responsibilities” as stated in the Owner’s Manual provided with your Mazda Vehicle.
  • Any perforation due to corrosion of a part of the Mazda Vehicle which is not a body sheet metal panel. As used herein, “body sheet metal panel” specifically excludes all parts which are components of the exhaust system of the Mazda Vehicle.
  • Any perforation to panels previously repaired to correct collision damage, fire, theft, natural disaster, etc.
  • Registration of the vehicle outside the borders of South Africa
  • If the vehicle has been classified a total loss and/or sold for salvage purposes or branded for any other reasons.

Your Responsibilities

You should maintain your Mazda Vehicle in accordance with your Owner’s Manual, and as specified under your MazdaCare Warranty and Service Plan.

  • You shall retain the evidence that proper maintenance has been performed on your Mazda Vehicle by an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
  • You must repair, without delay and at your expense, any body corrosion or damage due to customer neglect, lack of maintenance or external causes.
  • You should inform an Authorized Mazda Dealer at the earliest possible date, when you find paint damage, surface corrosion or perforation to a body sheet metal panel of your Mazda Vehicle.

Inspect the body sheet metal panels of your Mazda Vehicle frequently and if you detect any stone chips or scratches in the paint or protective coating, touch them up immediately.

In addition, special care should be taken to protect your Mazda Vehicle from corrosion.

  • If you drive on salted roads, or if you drive near the ocean, flush the underbody at least once a month with clean water.
  • It is important to keep the drain holes in the lower edges of the body clear.
  • If your Mazda Vehicle is damaged due to an accident or any event which may cause damage to the paint, have your Mazda Vehicle repaired as soon as possible.
  • If you carry special cargo, such as chemicals, fertilizers, de-icing salt, or other corrosive substances, be sure that such materials are well packaged and sealed.
  • If you drive frequently on gravel roads, we recommend that you install stone guards behind each wheel.

PARAMETERS

In order to qualify for any of the MazdaCare Choice Pre-Owned Warranty options, your vehicle must: 
  • Be a Mazda vehicle
  • Be less than 13 years old from date of first registration
  • Have less than 350,000km recorded on the odometer reading
  • Be a passenger, 4x4, or light commercial vehicle with a gross vehicle mass of less than 4 200 kg
  • Not be an electric vehicle, a taxi, a rental vehicle, vehicles used for transport purposes (fare paying passengers or a rebuilt vehicle (Code 3)
  • Not be a vehicle that is used in any form of motoring competition or sport
  • Not be a modified vehicle with a turbo conversion, a vehicle with any aftermarket conversion kits or a vehicle with suspension modifications

Are there any exclusions under the MazdaCare® choice pre-owned Warranty?
Normal wear and tear is not covered by this Policy. Normal wear and tear is defined as deterioration arising through the use or age of your vehicle which does not result in actual mechanical failure.
How do I make a claim under the MazdaCare® choice pre-owned Warranty?
To make a claim, you must have the repair work authorised in advance and performed by an Authorised Mazda Dealer. Ensure you have your MazdaCare® Choice Pre-Owned policy, including a valid VAT invoice for the Policy, and follow the claims procedure outlined in your policy.
Can i purchase the MazdaCare® choice pre-owned Warranty for a mazda vehicle with An incomplete service history?

Should your vehicle not have an up-to-date service history, on purchase date or inception date of your Policy it is your responsibility to have your vehicle serviced within 30 days of said date – failure to comply within this time will lead to the possible cancellation of the policy. This service must be done at an Authorized Mazda Dealer in accordance with your vehicle manufacturer’s specification for the age and kilometers of your vehicle at the time, and which service will be for your own account.
